Simple online assessment process:

  • Following the workshop, you will be sent a link to an online exam
  • You must sit the exam within two weeks of receiving the link
  • The exam comprises 120 multiple choice questions which must be completed in a single sitting and within a time limit of 2 hours and ten minutes
  • You can request up to three resits; the conditions for each resit are per the original exam
Provides 25.5 legislated CPD hours

This course is a ‘qualifying CPD activity’ and provides 25.5 CPD hours across the following categories:

  • Technical Competence (14 hours)
  • Regulatory compliance and consumer protection (8 hours)
  • Tax (Financial) Advice (3.5 hours)

Note: Under the standard, ASIC requires advisers to complete 40 hours of CPD each year of which 70% needs to be approved by your licensee. Furthermore, the activity must spread across ASIC’s CPD categories, with minimum hours applicable in each category.

*For the purposes of Tax Practitioners Board CPE for registered tax agents with a tax (financial) advice services condition on your registration, each 1 hour of CPD equates to 1 hour of CPE, subject to the CPE being relevant to the tax agent services you provide.

Certificate of Completion

All attendees who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate of completion from the University of Adelaide.

This is an industry-recognised course listed on ASIC’s Training Register.

According to ASIC Regulatory Guide 146 (RG146): Any person advising on self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs) must complete, as a minimum, the Tier 1 training requirements for superannuation.

If an adviser has previously undertaken training on superannuation, but this did not sufficiently cover SMSFs, the adviser should undertake additional specific product training in relation to SMSFs before advising on these products.
